In accordance with our policy of transparency we inform you about some of the rules for the Hotel Reservation applied in Greece for booking and cancellation.
The Greek law gives the hotel manager the right to decide the amount to be given in advance when booking an hotel or a room in a house.
Most of the places we are proposing require that the amount to be given in advance be equal to the cost of two nights or to 10-15% of the overall cost of the stay.
In case of cancellation the Ministry of Tourism established the following:
· Cancellation up to 21 days before the beginning of stay: all money given in advance is returned
· Cancellation between 20 and 7 days before the beginning of stay: the money given in advance will nor be returned
· In case of no-show: a payment equal to 50% of the cost of the overall stay is required (but often this rule is not applied)
· Early departure:a payment equal to 50% of the remaining cost of the period of stay is required
The managers of the lodgings that we are recommending have accepted to apply the best conditions for the customer, considering that cancellations are often due to problems arisen at the last moment.
